
Better UV Lamps for Textile Printing (Without the Huge Power Bill)
When you’re running high-volume print lines, you’re walking a tightrope. You need enough UV power to kill microbes and set your inks, but if you push it too hard, you’ll scorch the fabric. Nobody wants to pull a roll of yellowed or warped material off the line. That’s why we built these lamps differently.
The secret is in the wavelength
We focus everything on the 253.7nm wavelength. Why? Because that’s the sweet spot where microbial DNA actually breaks down. But here’s the part you’ll actually care about: we messed around with the gas mix and the electrode shapes to get more UV output for every watt of power. It’s simple. You get the same kill rate, but your electricity bill stops climbing. Plus, we kept the heat down. By balancing the wattage, we make sure the UV is strong enough to sterilize everything without cooking the delicate fibers of your fabric.
Built to last, not just to work
If you use standard glass, the UV-C just bounces off. It doesn’t work. So, we use high-purity quartz glass that lets the light fly right through. We also treated the internal cathodes to stop “sputtering.” If you’ve ever seen an old lamp turn dark or cloudy over time, that’s the problem. Our tubes stay clear longer, which means you aren’t climbing ladders to swap them out nearly as often.
A few things to keep in mind
These are designed to be drop-in replacements. You can wire them into most of the industrial ballasts you already have sitting in your shop. But, there is one catch. Energy-saving lamps don’t just “pop” on at 100%. They need a little time to warm up. If you flick the switch and immediately crank the line to full speed, you’re going to have gaps in your sterilization for the first 60 seconds. Just give them a minute to ramp up, and you’re good to go.
